India Steel Works Limited was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in the year 1992.
Currently about half of the Company’s issued equity capital is held by the promoters,
and the rest is with the general public, bodies corporate and foreign institutions.

The operations of the Company are governed by an experienced Board of Directors
comprising of executives, independent directors and major shareholders supported
by highly qualified & skilled personnel, with intensive experience in the stainless
steel industry.
The Company employs over a 1000 staff and workers across 3 factories.
Our total production capacity is 180,000 tons per annum Producing Stainless Steel
Hot rolled bars, Bright Bars, Wires, Reinforcement Bars
The factories are spread across a land area of 160,000 square meters.
Operations are run out of a head office in the business hub of Mumbai, with plants
around the city at Navi Mumbai, Savroli & Khopoli.
Why use DURA550 Stainless Steel rebar
Carbon steel reinforcement corrodes when Chlorides
and/or CO2 diffuses into the concrete and reaches
the steel. Since the corrosion products are more
voluminous than the rebar itself, the concrete
experiences mechanical stress which causes the
outer layers of the concrete to spall off. The exposed
rebar will corrode faster, leading to premature
failure. Reinforcement corrosion is the main cause
of premature deterioration of concrete structures and
causes billions of dollars worth of damage every year.
DURA550 Stainless steel rebar will resist corrosion
and therefore improve the durability of the structure.
Maintenance and repair costs will be greatly reduced
at a small initial extra cost.
Why does DURA550 stainless steel reinforcing bar not fail?
DURA550 Stainless steel resists corrosion by forming a very thin, self-repairing, oxide layer on the surface. As a result
stainlesss steel rebar is immune to a chloride-induced attack. No maintenance or repair is required. In addition, stainless
steel, unlike coated steel, tolerates bad handling and poor workmanship.
What are the DURA550 benefits?

The reinforcing steel DURA550 is suited for constructional elements
exposed to splash water and stationary water (use of defrosting salt) and
for areas jeopardized by carbonatization. DURA550 presents a reliable
and economic solution for improving the corrosion resistance of reinforced
concrete significantly and thus extending their lifetime. DURA550 can be
projected and handled according to the methods developed for black rebars.
No special treatment on the construction site is necessary.
